In my own words

Reading the game.
Raising the standard.

I'm Adi, a setter from La Crosse, Wisconsin. I fell in love with volleyball because of the mental side of it. Reading the block, finding the open hitter, keeping my teammates confident: that's what I live for.

I'm at my best when the pressure is on and the gym is loud. Off the court I'm interested in Exercise Science and I want to play somewhere that pushes me to get better every single day. I'm not the loudest person in the room, but my teammates will tell you I bring it every rep.

Danielle Schamberger · Head Coach, Aquinas High School

Adi is a well-rounded setter who leads by example and consistently elevates her team through both her play and competitive mindset. She brings energy, confidence, and a relentless work ethic to every practice and match.

As a sophomore, Adi was called up to varsity during the postseason after the starting senior setter was injured. With no prior varsity experience, she stepped into a high-pressure environment and played with poise and consistency, helping lead the team to a regional championship.

Building on that success, Adi earned the role of 5-1 setter her junior year and once again led her team to a regional championship.

Adi is highly coachable and committed to continuous improvement. She is a smart, efficient setter who runs a balanced offense, distributes the ball effectively to exploit opposing defenses, and plays strong, disciplined defense. Quick and composed on the court, she consistently turns difficult serve-receive situations into playable opportunities for her offense.

I've been coaching Adi for the last 3 months on a 17/18s club team. She immediately showed me that she was the definitive leader and floor captain of the team. She demonstrates a calm, commanding leadership that the rest of the team responds to in a very positive way.

She has run a 5-1, 6-2, and 5-2 offense for this team (where she is the right side hitter in the front row) and has been able to adapt to those different situations without trouble. She is as positive an influence from the bench as she is on the court, which speaks volumes to her character.

Adi is incredibly coachable. When I give her feedback, she looks me in the eye, acknowledges the feedback, and then makes an observable attempt to implement the feedback into her play. Not only does this help her improve, but it sets a great example for the rest of her teammates. This type of growth mindset will help her throughout her volleyball career and in every other aspect of her life.

While this is only the second year of club FeVA, I've been an assistant coach at the DIII level for 15 years (St. Thomas, St. Paul and St. Mary's, Winona) and have coached many camps over the last two decades. I wouldn't hesitate to recruit a player of Adi's talent, leadership, and competitiveness. She will make a positive impact on the culture and success of any team she is on.
